I've identified the speaker I'd like to book for my event. How do I go about securing the contract?

Once you've contacted iSB with your request, we issue you a contract complete with the speaker's name, event date and location, audience demographics, audio visual requirements and any other pertinent information. You review the contract and if everything looks accurate, you sign it and return it with your deposit within 14 days of receipt. We then present the contract to the speaker, secure his or her signature and present you with your copy of the fully-executed contract.

Do the contracts say anything about audio or video recording at the event?

Some speakers do allow recording at no additional charge. Some do not wish to be recorded or may charge an additional fee. Just make your requests known in advance and your Content Consultant will check with your desired speaker and incorporate this issue into the contract or provide an additional document to accommodate this request.

What about contracting a speaker to attend a special event?

Again, it depends on the speaker, but it is important to inquire with your Content Consultant early in the process. If they get the green light from your desired speaker, your special event request will appear in your contract.

Will speakers who are authors or celebrities contractually commit to the signing of books and other memorabilia?

Each speaker is different. Most are happy to do so, while others have contractual obligations that preclude them from participating in book and memorabilia signings. As is the case with any special request, the best thing to do is to inform your Content Consultant of your wishes up front so they can clear them with your desired speaker and get them into the contract prior to signing.
